If you were to see the headline below from the Independent, you would assume that the Trump administration is willingly releasing illegals back into the USA.

However, that is not the case at all. Instead, because of the fact that the immigration system needs to be fixed and strengthened, further down in the article, which most on the left will never read, it admits that the fault lies at the hands of the federal courts.

So, between the issue of countries still refusing to take back their illegals, and the fact that the federal courts move like molasses, it forces ICE, who did all of the hard work to catch these criminals to turn around and release them back into the interior of the country. Immigration enforcement's hands are tied when it comes to the length of time that they can hold the illegal aliens. Current U.S. law restricts them in regard to how long that they can be held. This definitely needs to be fixed immediately.
An ICE spokesperson explained that federal court rulings restrict the agency’s ability to detain individuals indefinitely, particularly when their home countries refuse to accept their return. As a result, some detainees are released.
“Our federal law enforcement officers are committed to ensuring public safety,” the spokesperson stated. “However, in certain situations, ICE is legally obligated to release specific individuals from custody.” NBC News highlighted that ICE has not disclosed how many individuals arrested during the Trump administration remain in detention or have been deported.
When individuals are released from ICE custody, they are placed under a monitoring program, which has been in place for over a decade. This system tracks migrants as their cases progress through the legal system, using methods such as ankle monitors, wristbands, or regular phone check-ins.
President Trump eliminated the “catch and release” policy, which previously allowed migrants detained at the southern border to remain in the U.S. while their cases were pending. According to the NBC report, very few asylum cases are currently active at the southern border since Trump halted the practice.
The report also noted that ICE’s detention facilities have a maximum capacity of 41,500 beds, which has led to the release of migrants apprehended in other parts of the country. Federal officials prioritize detaining individuals considered public safety threats, while using discretion to determine who can be released. There is no evidence that anyone with a serious criminal record has been freed.
Since his campaign, Trump has pledged to reverse many of the immigration policies implemented under Joe Biden and to deport millions of individuals from the U.S. He has also taken major steps in the effort to do just that.
“I will deploy troops to the southern border to stop the catastrophic invasion of our nation,” Trump declared in his inaugural address shortly after taking office. Since assuming the presidency, Trump has signed multiple executive orders aimed at tightening immigration policies, including efforts to end birthright citizenship and declaring a national emergency at the southern border. He also kept his promise to deploy troops.
The Trump administration has actively worked to ensure that countries comply with accepting their deported citizens, recently exemplified by a brief standoff with Colombia. The issue, which involved Colombia initially resisting deportation flights, was swiftly resolved. Colombian President Gustavo Petro subsequently urged his citizens living illegally in the U.S. to return home voluntarily.
In another significant move, the administration secured a similar agreement with Venezuela. Last week, Trump dispatched an envoy to meet with Venezuelan leadership, resulting in a commitment from the country to accept the return of its citizens and assist in the repatriation of those residing illegally in the U.S. This marks a notable step in the administration’s broader efforts to address immigration challenges through international cooperation.
At the end of the day, just having a secure border will make a drastic difference in how many illegals even make it into our country. Other actions that he has taken already have also solidified the fact that he is committed to doing the will of the American Majority. just 7 months ago CBS conducted a poll that indicated that the majority of U.S. citizens want all illegal aliens deported. Those still resisting are the illegals, or the few crazies who remain on the left.
