On Tuesday, the Trump administration initiated the transfer of undocumented immigrants to Guantánamo Bay, marking the start of a controversial plan to repurpose the Cuban facility to accommodate thousands of migrants. Why this plan is controversial is beyond me. We house terrorists there. The illegal aliens heading there are cartel, gang members, killers, and rapists. Trump labelled the cartel terror organizations, something that should have been done long ago.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that the first flights transporting "illegal migrants" from the U.S. to Guantánamo Bay were already in progress. During an appearance on Fox Business Network, Leavitt emphasized the administration's hardline stance, stating, "President Trump is done playing games. He refuses to let America become a haven for illegal criminals from across the globe."

This move follows a memo signed by President Trump last week, which instructed the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security to establish a migrant detention center at Guantánamo Bay capable of holding up to 30,000 individuals. The facility, historically used to detain military prisoners—including those linked to the 9/11 attacks—has long been associated with the U.S. war on terror. It gained notoriety for allegations of torture and human rights abuses, though the Biden administration had previously sought to scale back its operations. Currently, 15 detainees remain at the site. They will soon be joined by thousands of illegal alien criminals.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem defended the decision during an interview on Meet the Press on Sunday, asserting, "Due process will be upheld, and the facilities at Guantánamo Bay will serve as a valuable resource." However, she declined to clarify whether women and children would also be detained at the site. Personally, I hope that this site can be utilized to house ALL illegals awaiting trial. Plus, it's one way to keep these 'families' together as well. Something the left likes to whine about daily.

The Trump administration has intensified efforts to deport individuals who entered the U.S. illegally, securing agreements with countries like Colombia, Venezuela, and El Salvador to accept deported immigrants. This latest move to utilize Guantánamo Bay for migrant detention underscores the administration's uncompromising approach to immigration enforcement. I must say, it is such a wonderful time to be an American. For once we have a president who is working to restore the republic and clean up this disgusting mess that has slowly developed for decades.
