Revelations pertaining to Joe Bidens mental capacities have come out over the past weeks. One most notable was Speaker Mike Johnson describing a bizarre scenario where he was kept from meeting with the then installed President. He also described a situation where Joe Biden hadn't even realized what he actually signed versus what he was told he was signing. In recent days, a former fundraiser for the Democrats has stated that it was Jill Biden running things behind the scenes. None of this came as a shock to most people after what we saw from Joe Biden practically upon the day of Biden taking office.
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he is revoking President Joe Biden’s access to classified information and discontinuing his daily intelligence briefings. Trump framed the decision as a direct response to Biden’s 2021 action, when the current president halted Trump’s access to national security updates following the January 6 Capitol fedsurrection. This would probably be the best move for the country as a whole, considering the former president is not mentally competent enough to receive these briefings, and nobody in his family should be receiving them and selling the information like they tend to do.
Trump made the announcement via a post on his social media platform shortly after arriving at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach for the weekend. “There is no justification for Joe Biden to retain access to classified materials,” Trump wrote. “As such, we are immediately revoking his security clearance and terminating his daily intelligence briefings. This is a precedent he himself set in 2021 when he denied the 45th President of the United States—yours truly—access to national security details, a courtesy traditionally extended to former presidents.” Trump is correct here. Unlike POTUS Trump, Biden was stealing and mishandling classified materials even before he had the presidential protection to do so. If you recall, the FBI got caught inserting fake cover letters marked "Top Secret" to hand to the media for their sensational stories about a nothingburger. Special Council Hur declined prosecuting Joe because he was senile.
This decision marks the latest in a series of what the media will label as 'retaliatory' actions Trump has taken since returning to the political spotlight. Earlier, he revoked security clearances from over four dozen former intelligence officials who had signed a 2020 letter suggesting the Hunter Biden laptop controversy resembled a “Russian disinformation campaign.” He has also withdrawn security details from former government officials who worked against him in his first term, including ex-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who faces ongoing threats from Iran because he is a war monger, and Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former infectious disease expert, who turned out to be less than an expert.
Biden has yet to publicly respond to Trump’s announcement. My guess is that it is because he is probably asleep currently. However, the current president’s 2021 decision to cut off Trump’s intelligence briefings was rooted in concerns over Trump’s 'role' in inciting the January 6 fedsurrection and his “erratic” behavior. Trump as you know incited the fedsurrection by telling people who attended his speech to go peacefully and patriotically and let your voices be heard. During the end of his speech, the Capitol building was already being breeched by the likes of John Sullivan, and Antifa/BLM activist who presented himself as a Trump supporter that day. At the time, Biden expressed unease about Trump potentially mishandling sensitive information, stating, “What value is there in giving him an intelligence briefing? What impact does he have, other than the risk of him accidentally disclosing something?” One thing is certain, they did not actually find Trumps documents outside of Mar- A -Lago, for example, none were found in the garage next to an old Corvette. None were found in an office on a college campus, and none were found in some rented building in Chinatown.
The tension between the two has been further fueled by legal battles over classified documents. In 2022, federal agents raided Trump’s Florida residence, seizing boxes of classified materials. Trump faced dozens of felony charges related to the alleged mishandling of these documents and obstruction of justice, though the charges were later dismissed due to a ruling that the special counsel overseeing the case was improperly appointed. They were also dismissed after the revelation that the case what complete nonsense. The Justice Department dropped its appeals after Trump’s election victory in November.
In a related development, Trump also dismissed Colleen Shogan as the Archivist of the United States, as announced by White House aide Sergio Gor on social media. Shogan, who the media swoons over for being the first woman to hold the position, had drawn Trump’s ire after the National Archives raised concerns about his handling of classified documents. In reality, David S. Ferriero, who was in charge of the archives at the time, had approved the documents that Trump took with him. After a secret meeting with prosecutors and some in the FBI, he decided to demand Trump return them. Although Shogan was not in office when the issue arose, Trump had vowed earlier this year to replace the head of the National Archives and Records Administration. This move is probably for the best as well, being that the Biden was the one who appointed Shogan.
In his social media post, Trump referenced the special counsel report on Biden’s handling of classified documents, which described the president’s memory as “poor” and “hazy.” The report, led by Special Counsel Robert Hur, concluded that criminal charges were unwarranted but criticized Biden’s management of sensitive records. Trump seized on the findings, writing, “The Hur Report revealed that Biden suffers from ‘poor memory’ and, even in his ‘prime,’ could not be trusted with sensitive information.” He concluded his post with a signature line: “I will always protect our National Security—JOE, YOU’RE FIRED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
The decision to revoke Biden’s access to intelligence briefings falls within the sitting president’s authority, as it is ultimately their prerogative to determine whether a former president should retain access to classified information. Trump’s communications director, Steven Cheung, echoed the announcement on social media with a playful yet pointed message: “Hit the road, Jack, and don’t you come back no more!”
The ongoing 'feud' between Trump and Biden continues to highlight the fight between the deep state and President Trump.
