Germany Proves JD Vance Right in Raids on Speech

Just after JD Vance gave a stern warning to German officials, German authorities have defended their recent nationwide crackdown on online hate speech, emphasizing that the country’s stringent laws are designed to uphold democratic values rather than suppress free expression. This comes amid mounting international criticism, as reported by press outlets on Sunday.

In a coordinated operation, police conducted raids targeting over 50 individuals accused of disseminating hateful content online, according to CBS News. Prosecutors have framed the initiative as part of Germany’s broader strategy to enforce laws that criminalize incitement to hatred and the spread of false information.

“We are addressing crimes committed through language,” stated Matthaus Fink, a state prosecutor involved in the operation, as cited by the media. “Many are unaware that their online posts can cross legal boundaries. Freedom of speech is protected, but it is not without limits,” he added.

Germany, known for its rigorous speech regulations rooted in its history of hate-driven violence, has witnessed a surge in online abuse in recent years. Officials point to the 2019 assassination of politician Walter Lubcke, which followed years of digital harassment, as a stark example of how online hate can escalate into real-world violence.

“Online hatred can spill into the physical world and cause harm,” noted prosecutor Svenja Meininghaus, highlighting how threats and abuse often deter individuals from engaging in democratic discussions.

Under German law, authorities can prosecute not only those who create or share hateful content but also individuals who endorse it through likes or reposts. Penalties for violations include hefty fines, device confiscation, and, in some cases, imprisonment.

International Criticism: A Clash of Perspectives

The crackdown has drawn sharp criticism abroad, particularly from the United States. Vice President JD Vance recently denounced the raids, labeling them “an attack on fundamental freedoms.” During a speech in Washington, DC, Vance asserted, “True freedom of speech no longer exists in Europe. When governments raid homes over social media posts, they are not defending democracy—they are undermining it.”

Elon Musk, the owner of social media platform X and a prominent figure in U.S. politics, also weighed in. Responding to news of the raids, Musk posted on X: “Thank goodness America still values free speech!” His comments sparked widespread debate, with some applauding his stance while others criticized it as dismissive of efforts to combat hate-fueled violence.

German Officials Push Back

German officials have rejected the criticism, arguing that such measures are essential to maintaining an open, respectful, and fact-based public discourse. “Our constitution clearly defines the limits of free speech when it involves inciting hatred or spreading falsehoods,” said Josephine Ballon, CEO of the Berlin-based advocacy group HateAid. “Without these boundaries, a vocal and aggressive minority can silence the majority,” she added.

The European Union has recently ramped up efforts to regulate online platforms, introducing legislation that compels tech companies to curb the spread of harmful content. Social media platform X is currently under investigation for potential violations of these regulations.

Prosecutor Fink acknowledged the complexities of policing the digital realm but underscored its necessity. “The internet is not a lawless domain,” he said. “We investigate crimes, regardless of where they occur. To do nothing is not an option.”

In reality, what Germany is doing right now, is not too much different than what we are told that they did under Hitler. They censored opposing speech then as well. Unfortunately, with the left, any speech that goes against their ridiculous core beliefs is deemed hate speech.

Also to be noted, these laws against free speech only go one way. For example, if a Muslim were to say he wanted to blow up white people, they would ignore it like they did with one of the past few attackers there. If a white person speaks out against forced mass migration, they will be charged with hate speech. Luckily for us in the USA, the SCOTUS has already ruled that hate speech is free speech. Most of us don't actually like legitimate hate speech. However, in a country where speech is free, you may see and hear things that you do not like and agree with. You in turn have the right to speak against it.

We actually dodged a bullet in November, the way the Biden/Harris regime was headed was straight towards anti-constitutional fascism. We saw people peacefully protesting near abortion clinics arrested. We saw parents arrested for speaking out against ridiculous school policies at school meetings arrested, and many more people for partaking in various forms of free speech.

Currently our bought and paid for "free" press is calling Trump an anti-free speech president because he banned the corrupted AP from attending pressers. However, Biden revoked around 400 press passes for reporters that he didn't like when he was in office and these same people had nothing to say about it.

As Americans, we need to resist any effort to ban free speech in this country. The leftist wet dream is to control speech that they don't like, while also restricting your right granted by the second amendment, just like we are told Hitler did in Germany so many years ago.
